All attendees or participants must be current with their IIKA association dues. To remind you, at the December 2008 IIKA Board meeting, Mr. Burris submitted a proposal to develop a Masters Council. His vision for the Council involved four areas of focus: a) To involve more of our younger members in the operation and leadership of the      association b) To provide a mechanism for input to the association c) To provide standardized training for future association leaders d) To provide a means to distribute standardized training to member dojos As you recall from earlier correspondences, participation was originally limited to master levels from Roku-Dan and above. In the final development stage, however, the IIKA Board chose to include Go-Dans for participation. Since 5th Dans are being prepared to assume future roles as Roku-Dans; the Board felt that inclusion with the Masters Council would give them additional time to develop the necessary knowledge and skills before assuming Roku-Dan status. Although Go-Dans are allowed to participate in the seminars, only Roku-Dans and above are allowed to sit on the Masters Council as actual members. This will be a working seminar so be sure and bring your Gi’s. Additionally, this time will include a general discussion and idea sharing regarding further development of the Masters Council.
