I would also like to express our deepest appreciation to the families of those Americans for sharing their loved ones as they endeavor to protect our liberties and freedoms. As we observe Memorial Day, I encourage each of us to do so in the spirit of appreciation and admiration for what others are giving-up for our benefit, and for the benefit of those we love. Without these loyal men and women, along with their families, we would not be able to rest safely in our beds at night, travel freely throughout our country, work for the enhanced prosperity of our nation, or raise our families without fear for their safety. To all of you, may God grant you continued safety in the performance of your duties, and may He bless your families in the knowledge that they are being cared for in times of your absence.
