The revision comes under Section 4.2 entitled “No Assumption of Responsibility.” A second paragraph has been added to this section which reads as follows: “Additionally, any and all tournament hosts shall provide a copy of a current, in force, liability insurance policy before the IIKA will sanction said tournament and that the IIKA, its directors, and officers shall be named as additional insureds on the policy.” In short, for a tournament to be sanctioned by the IIKA, the tournament host must secure a liability policy prior to the event and provide a copy of the in-force policy to the IIKA. A copy of the liability policy must be presented to the IIKA before any flyers, announcements and/or marketing materials are prepared or distributed for the IIKA to sanction the event. Tournament hosts can still have their events without getting a liability insurance policy. However, the IIKA will no longer sanction any tournament without such a policy in-force prior to the event.
